PUMA will be launching a new silhouette this weekend exclusively for women with the arrival of the PUMA Nova GRL PWR.
The collab comes at the hands of music industry girl boss and CEO of Lola Media Group, Lola Plaku. This is Plaku’s first release as a part of PUMA’s Co-creative platform. Not only is Plaku creating her own path in a male dominated music industry, but she is spreading that girl boss energy with her own mentorship program, GIRL CONNECTED. The program pairs Plaku’s industry colleagues with aspiring female professionals to learn different components of the music business(A&R, creative, marketing, etc.). Last year, Lola hosted GIRL CONNECTED events in London, Atlanta and Toronto. The full GIRL CONNECTED program will launch later this year.
“Lola is known for spearheading a mission to empower young women, and this partnership pays tribute to her efforts with a Nova sneaker pack aptly titled GRL PWR,”
says Yassine Saidi, PUMA’s Senior Head of Select. Talk about spreading the GRL PWR.
The GRL PWR silhouette which was designed by Lola gives you all the 90’s vibes. The design includes a slim mesh upper with leather overlays and bright color blocking. Lola chose distinct color palettes for the sneaker, dropping in two colorways, ‘Black/Surf the Web’ and ‘Peach Bud/Pearl Blush’.
The PUMA NOVA GRL PWR sneaker is set to release on January 18 on PUMA.com and in select stores worldwide. The second PUMA Nova iteration designed by Plaku will release in March.
