I won’t be the first to admit it, but Yoon Ahn is one to watch. She’s the South-Korean designer behind the Tokyo-based streetwear brand AMBUSH and most recently, Dior Men’s jewelry designer. Although she’s been designing behind AMBUSH for over a decade now, she didn’t run across my radar until this past December with her Fall/Winter AMBUSH x Nike collab. After all, anything Nike is bound to catch my eye. Now Yoon is back again already teasing this year’s AMBUSH Fall/Winter collab, this time with Converse at the forefront.
So far the collab features a revamped high top Converse Chuck Taylor in both all white and all black pairs. Yoon describes the unisex design as “Made for men and women who fell to Earth.” Giving off all the vintage military vibes, the silhouette is said to be inspired by military winter boots that Converse used to produce for the US military. The model is a bit taller than your classic high top Chucks as the lacing goes pretty high past the ankles and also sits atop a high sole unit. Both models include: “AMBUSH” branding on the heels in black font.
The AMBUSH x Converse Chuck Taylor is slated to release as a part of the AMBUSH F/W ’19 collection. It’ll be one to watch out for so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
